Troubleshooting Divi Icon Library

Plugin Shows "Divi 5 Required" Notice

Divi Icon Library requires Divi 5. Divi 4 is not supported and there are no plans to add compatibility.

If you see this notice:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Updates and update Divi to the latest version
  2. Confirm Divi 5 mode is enabled (this is automatic in recent versions)
  3. Check that the Divi theme is active at Appearance → Themes

If you are running Divi 4 or the Classic Builder, you must upgrade to Divi 5 to use this plugin.

API Key Errors

"No Elegant Themes API Key found"

Your API key is missing or not saved:

  1. Go to Divi → Theme Options → Updates
  2. Enter your API key and username
  3. Click Save Changes

Get your API key from the Elegant Themes Members Area.

"No valid purchase was found"

The API key does not have a Divi Icon Library purchase associated with it:

  • Confirm you are using the API key from the same Elegant Themes account where you purchased the plugin
  • If you purchased with a different account, use that account's API key instead
  • If you believe this is an error, contact Elegant Themes support

"API key has been disabled"

The API key has been deactivated:

"Access has expired"

Your Elegant Themes membership or Divi Icon Library subscription has lapsed:

  • Renew your subscription on the Divi Marketplace
  • After renewal, the plugin will validate automatically within 12 hours (or clear the cache manually)

Icon Picker Does Not Open

If clicking the icon in the canvas does nothing:

  1. Clear your browser cache and reload the page
  2. Check the browser console for JavaScript errors
  3. Disable other plugins temporarily to rule out conflicts
  4. Ensure the Visual Builder bundle is loaded (check for divi-icon-library.js in network requests)

Icons Not Displaying on Frontend

If the icon shows in the builder but not on the published page:

  1. Clear all caches (WordPress cache, plugin caches, CDN cache)
  2. Check that the page was saved and published
  3. View the page source and confirm the SVG markup is present

Colours Not Applying

If your colour settings are not reflected on the icon:

  1. Check that you are setting the correct colour channel (stroke for Line icons, fill for Shape icons, both for Filled icons)
  2. The icon may have none values for transparency — these are preserved and cannot be overridden
  3. Clear your browser cache and reload

Search Returns No Results

If searching for icons returns nothing:

  1. Try broader search terms (e.g., "arrow" instead of "left arrow pointing down")
  2. Check your internet connection — icons are loaded from a cloud library
  3. Try a different category filter

Contact Support

If you cannot resolve an issue:

  1. Click the thumbs-down icon in the Divi Marketplace product page to report a problem
  2. Include your WordPress version, Divi version, and any error messages
  3. The plugin author responds to support requests through the Marketplace
